The End Of DSM Bike Notes

Hi everyone!

I wanted to let you know that my last story was my last story. I have decided to end DSM Bike Notes. I’ve been writing this newsletter in my spare time, and it takes a lot of work to create content that I think is worth your time. From hunting down stories, to coordinating interviews, confirming details, running all around to get pictures – it’s surprisingly a lot.

I am about to start a new full-time job, and I need to focus completely on that right now. I just don’t think I will have the time or energy to continue producing DSM Bike Notes in the way I’d like. Also, ironically, I haven’t been able to ride my bike as much as I want because I spend a lot of time writing about biking. I want to ride my bike this summer!

Thank you to everyone who has been reading over the last six months. I’m ending the newsletter with about 900 subscribers, and many more people who find my content in other ways. I’m thankful as well for the advertisers who chose to spend their money on my product. Also, a huge thank you to the people who took the time to do an interview with me – from government officials to non-profit leaders and people out for a ride. The newsletter could not have happened without your help.

There’s so much going on in the Des Moines biking community, and I think this newsletter has proven there is an appetite for information gathered and told with journalistic standards. Maybe someone else will create their own version of DSM Bike Notes someday?

Thanks for reading,

Zach Tecklenburg
